Phase II: Intro

At this phase in the game, your beginner protection has worn off and you need to start thinking about three main things: resources, troops, and allies.

Resources:  You will need to make serious advances in farming, and upgrading your village resources, in order to optimize growth and to adhere to your chosen strategy.  Chances are high that regardless of what you choose, resources are central to that plan.

  • If you find that you have a surplus of resources, consider offering a trade on the market; most players have extra, and you may be able to help each other out.

Troops:  You are now susceptible to attacks from your neighbors and enemies.  Whether you plan to go offensive or defensive, you need to make sure that you are building troops to help you achieve success. Most players strive for a 2:1 troop ratio, meaning that you should have twice as many troops as points.

Allies:  Look around at the tribes in your area.  It’s best to join with one that has experienced core players and also one that is clustered near you.  The benefit of a tribe is protection; joining one that is too far away to offer you any real support is counter productive and also very stupid.  You don’t want to be that guy (or girl).
